–  Integration of Theory and practice for the foundation of a professional career
  • Curriculum Highlights:
    • To enable students to understand the latest development trend of the tourism and hospitality industry.
    • To lay the foundation for students to enter the profession.
    • To equip students with the knowledge, concepts, attitudes and basic generic skills required for the workplace.
  • Learning and Teaching Features
    • To enhance students’ learning motivation through various activities
      • Diversified off-campus learning activities: to bring students to experience the work of the industry and enhance students’ understanding of the industry through workshops.
      • ▪ Cultural exchange programmes: to enable students to experience “learning to travel” and learn about the operation of tour groups and the development of tourism in other countries.
      • After-school support and continuous assessment: to help students with different abilities to face the challenges of the Diploma of Secondary Education (DSE) Examination through systematic assessment and after-school programmes.
    • Use of school-based materials, which are revised by teachers according to student ability, industry trends and tourism data each year.
    • Role-playing – Role-playing is adopted to enhance students’ understanding of customer service in the section on customer relationship.
    • Current tourism news – as many of the questions in the Diploma Examination are related to tourism news and information, students are asked to read relevant news and newspaper clippings and discuss them in class to help them face the public examination.
  • Intensive Training and Support
    • In view of the learning diversity of students, the subject starts the Strategic After-school Support Programme in Secondary 5 and 6, under which students are divided into groups for remedial lessons according to their abilities and requirements for public examinations, so as to strengthen their ability to cope with the examinations.

        • By participating in cultural exchange, students can go beyond Hong Kong and see the world, and learn about the operation of airlines, hotels, tour escorts, restaurants and attractions, as well as learn about different cultures.
