  • Curriculum Highlights
    • To enhance students’ understanding of physical activities, so that they can learn to appreciate them and understand their benefits.
    • To enable students to develop good physical fitness, establish the habit of active participation in sports and achieve a certain level of athleticism.
    • To develop students’ individual potential and self-realization, as well as to learn to follow rules, control emotions and develop positive values.
    • To enable students to co-operate with others, compete with others and develop sportsmanship.
    • To expose students to a wide range of sports activities that can be developed into lifelong sports.
  • Secondary 4 – Secondary 6: Senior Secondary Physical Education Elective
    • To equip students with the Physical Education, sport and recreation knowledge to understand, discern, reflect and think independently about contemporary issues affecting individuals, communities, nations or the global community on a daily basis.
    • To develop students who are physically and mentally healthy, able to face challenges, have a high degree of self-regulation when practising active and healthy living, able to take the lead, and concerned with issues related to healthy communities
    • To develop in students good character and respect for diverse cultures & perspectives in sport, physical activity and recreation, as well as in all aspects of life.
    • After taking the PE elective, students can have a broad knowledge base, positive values and attitudes, and essential skills and habits to enable them to self-regulate an active and healthy life.  They can also have a good foundation for progression to post-secondary education programmes in various fields such as science, humanities and social sciences.
  • Learning and Teaching Features
    • A Wide Range of Physical Activities
      • To set up various sports teams and activity groups, including Fitness class, Fitness Ball Team and Archery Team.  We share various sports skills and knowledge through positive web articles to help students develop an active & healthy lifestyle and good character.  Our school has a fitness room, climbing wall, archery and golf course, with special sports such as rock climbing, archery and golf.
  • Promotion of healthy lifestyles
    • Apart from teaching general sports skills, we also focus on students’ health and fitness development by participating in the “School Physical Fitness Award Scheme” and the “Sport ACT Award Scheme”, so that students can participate in more physical activities and keep an eye on their physical fitness status and changes.
  • Reading across English Language Education
    • In order to enhance students’ English proficiency, English vocabularies are added to the PE notes to support their learning.
  • Project Learning
    • Each year, students from one grade are selected to undergo a project-based learning programme on topics such as the Olympic Games, Asian Games, East Asian Games and the World Cup football matches to enable them to gain a deeper understanding of these topics.
  • Life-wide Learning
    • On-campus Activities
      • To enhance students’ knowledge of water safety and First Aid through seminars and workshops, which are organized annually for students.
      • To arrange students to attend the “Press to Shock-Save a life” – CPR and AED courses organized by the Fire Services Department.
      • To organize lifesaving demonstrations to teach water safety and lifesaving knowledge.
      • To organize cross-curricular activities, including Health Week and cover design for the sports day.
  • Off-campus Competitions and Promotion of Emerging Sports
    • With excellent sports facilities and a through-train concept, our school has set up various sports teams starting from primary school.  Through systematic training, they are developed to junior and senior secondary school level, and lead students to participate in external competitions to broaden their horizons and enhance their self-confidence.  In addition, the school also recommends students to participate in the selection of the Hong Kong representative team to encourage them to develop their sports expertise.
    • In recent years, the school has participated in the Jockey Club Innovative and Adventurous “Sports for Islands”, introducing emerging sports such as dodgebell, baseball six, soft tip darts, floor ball, flyball, VR sports, etc., to enrich the school’s PE curriculum and allow students to enjoy the fun of emerging sports.
